Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our fast-paced and high-volume telemetry unit. This role involves caring for patients with multiple and sometimes complex diagnoses. The Telemetry Nurse will provide exceptional nursing care to adults and geriatric patients while maintaining a focus on patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions, ensuring that all vital signs and telemetry readings are accurately interpreted.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following established protocols and procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and execute patient care plans.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Float to other care areas of equal or lesser acuity during low census periods, as needed.

Qualifications

• Must possess an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland.
• BLS, ACLS, NIH, and CPI certifications required.
• A minimum of 2 years of telemetry nursing experience is required; first-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Shift Information

This position requires the ability to work night shifts, with options for either 3x12 or 4x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30). Every other weekend and holiday shifts are mandatory as scheduled.

Additional Information

All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of the offer, as RTO during fall and winter holiday weeks will not be accepted. The unit operates with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5, and up to 6 with lower acuity cases. Staff may be floated as necessary to sister facilities when needed.
