Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Job Summary

We are seeking a competent Registered Nurse to provide independent and comprehensive care for patients in a cardiac and telemetry unit. The successful candidate will demonstrate awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care, ensuring effective management of both routine and complex nursing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Meet expectations according to the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments according to appropriate protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given accurately and efficiently.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers as necessary.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications:
  • BLS certification via AHA required.
  • ACLS certification via AHA required.
  • RN License in the state of employment or compact required.

Work Schedule

Full-time position with shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM. Requires availability to float to different units as necessary and to work every other weekend.

Additional Information

• No on-call requirements.
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 5:1 to 6:1, depending on staffing levels.
• Must complete initial orientation and competency validation within the first 30 days of hire.
• Dress code: Ceil blue scrubs.
