Description:
This is a fast-paced specialty medical/surgical unit providing growth in professional knowledge and expertise in the care of cardiovascular patients.
Staff will care for specialty patients, including stable heart and lung transplants and Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs).
Patient ratios are typically 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night.
Travelers should be prepared to float frequently to meet the staffing needs of the facility.
The unit features a team-based approach, incorporating support from CNAs, technicians, and transport teams.
Weekends require working 4 shifts out of 8 possible within a four-week period, with specific days designated for weekend shifts.
RTO (Request Time Off) is allowed prior to submission.
Travelers must comply with all health safety regulations, including being a nicotine-free facility.
The role involves various nursing skills, including blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, and management of cardiac drips.
Experience in high-acuity settings is preferred, and first-time travelers are not accepted.
All contracts conclude on a Sunday, with workweeks running Monday through Sunday.
You will be expected to meet the specific patient care needs while supporting a collaborative team environment.
Candidates must manage fluctuations in staffing and provide exceptional care to patients in a specialized setting.
