Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with level of practice.
Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources.
Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to effectively manage clinical situations; floats to BMed, Ortho, and PCU as required.
Required Qualifications
Active RN license in the state of New Mexico or a valid compact state license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required – American Heart Association (AHA) only.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in Telemetry or a related nursing specialty.
Ability to practice independently and manage complex, contingent clinical situations.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience floating to Med-Surg, Orthopedics, or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) settings.
