Travel RN – General Surgery / Telemetry

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Day Shift | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Full-Time | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed General Surgery unit, managing 6–7 patients per shift depending on assignment
Monitor and manage telemetry, PCA pumps, wound vacs, Baxter IV pumps, TPN, tube feeds, and urinary catheters
Care for post-surgical patients including those recovering from bowel resections, urology surgeries, nephrectomies, hysterectomies, mastectomies, cholecystectomies, thyroidectomies, hernia repairs, and related procedures
Manage complex drainage systems including biliary drains, JP drains, nephrostomy tubes, colostomies, urostomies, CBI, NG tubes, PEG tubes, and dobhoffs
Administer heparin drips, IV antibiotics, and other ordered medications safely and accurately using Cerner EMR
Collaborate effectively with charge nurses, unit secretaries, providers, and CNA team members in a fast-paced environment; float to other med-surg areas as needed
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
Minimum 2 years of RN experience
Demonstrated telemetry competency
Experience with urology and bowel patient populations
Current BLS certification
Telemetry certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in a high-acuity general surgery or med-surg setting
Familiarity with Cerner EMR
Experience managing complex post-surgical drains, ostomies, and enteral feeding devices
