Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Full-Time | Shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour nights); weekend and holiday availability required
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 27-bed Telemetry unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, caring for patients with diagnoses including CHF, NSTEMI, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, diabetes, CAD, renal failure, respiratory failure, and pneumothorax
Monitor and document cardiac rhythms every 6 hours using telemetry monitoring equipment; unit currently uses SpaceLab monitors with a transition to Philips underway
Manage post-cath lab patients, including experience with TR bands and Fem stops (sheath pulling not required)
Administer and monitor set-rate cardiac drips including diltiazem and amiodarone; titration is not required on this unit
Perform NIH Stroke Scale assessments and manage patients with chest tubes as needed
Float to like units, Med/Surg, and potentially to ICU (if experienced) at additional facilities in the area as needed
Required Qualifications
Active RN licensure (or compact eligibility) in the state of Idaho
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Telemetry RN
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Demonstrated cardiac drip experience (diltiazem, amiodarone, or similar)
NIH Stroke Scale assessment experience
Post-cath recovery and chest tube experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with TR bands and Fem stops following cardiac catheterization procedures
Familiarity with Philips or SpaceLab telemetry monitoring systems
Prior experience floating to ICU settings
