Provide direct patient care on a 21-bed Med-Surg and Cardiac Observation unit serving a diverse patient population including pre/post cath, chest pain rule-outs on heparin drips, COPD, CHF, pacers, and arrhythmias
Read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips in real time using unit-based monitoring equipment, in coordination with telemetry monitor techs
Administer and manage set-rate drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Bumex, and Lasix
Collaborate with charge nurses, nurse aides, and respiratory therapy to deliver safe, high-quality patient care at average nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6
Manage a high-volume, fast-paced environment with the potential for up to 6 discharges and 6+ admissions per day
Float to other units within the facility as needed, receiving only patients within your demonstrated skillset
