Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry

Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours Weekly Guaranteed | No Call Requirements

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Monitor and manage a patient population that includes CHF, alcohol withdrawal, NSTEMI, sepsis, dysrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, and post-procedure patients (pacemakers, ablations, cath lab, and patients downgraded from ICU)
  • Administer and monitor non-titratable cardiac medication drips including Cardizem, Lasix, and Nitroglycerin
  • Identify and measure cardiac rhythm strips as part of ongoing telemetry monitoring
  • Coordinate care across a multidisciplinary team in a collaborative, patient-centered environment
  • Float as needed to intensive care units, medical-surgical units, or other departments up to competency level; may be required to work major holidays and pick up additional shifts as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Active Nevada RN license required prior to start date
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience
  • Must pass a telemetry competency exam, including identification and measurement of rhythm strips, prior to assignment (failure of exam may result in contract termination)
  • Ability to meet the cognitive and psychosocial competency standards specific to adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience caring for post-procedure cardiac patients including those following ablations, pacemaker placements, and open-heart surgery step-down
  • Prior travel nursing experience in a high-volume, fast-paced acute care environment
  • Familiarity with ICU-level patient care for telemetry-appropriate assignments
