Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients on a 38-bed telemetry unit, utilizing the full nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses including CHF, alcohol withdrawal, NSTEMI, sepsis, dysrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, COVID, and post-procedure care (pacemakers, ablations, cath lab, and post-ICU step-down)
Administer and manage non-titratable cardiac medication drips including Cardizem, Lasix, and Nitroglycerin
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including CNAs, Critical Care Techs, Advanced Care Techs, Rapid Response Team, phlebotomists, EKG technicians, and Respiratory Therapists
Coordinate individualized patient care and outcomes across the full episode of care, incorporating family and caregiver involvement as appropriate
Float as needed to intensive care units, medical-surgical units, or other campus locations based on organizational need and competency level
Required Qualifications
Active Nevada Registered Nurse (RN) license required prior to start
BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
NIHSS certification (APEX)
Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
Must pass a telemetry competency exam, including identification and measurement of rhythm strips
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced acute care environment
Familiarity with post-ICU step-down patient populations and cardiac monitoring protocols
Comfort with floating across multiple unit types including ICU and medical-surgical settings
