Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Telemetry (Nights)

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 or 48 Guaranteed Hours Per Week | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups, including medical and medical telemetry patients and those with developmental delays
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Maintain professional accountability for provision of patient care and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care delivered by other direct care givers
- Perform drug titration and manage telemetry monitoring equipment, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps, and lift equipment
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable nursing practice standards
- Float on a rotational basis as required and adapt to varying schedules based on patient care needs
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license meeting eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri, or currently licensed in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient telemetry experience
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required prior to start date (submissions accepted without, but must be obtained before beginning assignment)
- Demonstrated experience and competence in drug titration
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system
- Familiarity with caring for patients with developmental delays or complex medical comorbidities
- Determined, decisive, and flexible personality well-suited to a fast-paced inpatient environment
