Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Expected 36 hours/week | 3–4 weekend shifts per month | No on-call required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Telemetry unit serving cardiac and neurological patients with a 4:1 patient ratio
• Perform EKG interpretation, IV starts, and chest tube management
• Receive and monitor patients post-procedure, including heart catheterization, pacemaker placement, ablation, Watchman device, valve repair, and cardioversion
• Operate unit equipment including telemetry boxes, Welch Allyn vital sign machines, and Alaris IV pumps; document care using Meditech EMR
• Float to PCU and Med/Surg units as needed
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, CNAs, and sitters to deliver safe, high-quality patient care

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in California
• Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHS) certification required
• Demonstrated proficiency in EKG interpretation, IV insertion, and chest tube management — candidates without these skills will not be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with Meditech EMR
• Experience caring for post-procedural cardiac patients (cath lab, pacemaker, ablation, cardioversion)
• Familiarity with PCU or Med/Surg environments for float coverage
