Travel Nurse RN - Transplant - $1,927 per week in Houston, TX

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry - Transplant Duration: 6 weeks Shift: 12-hour Days Hours per Shift: 48 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred, NIHSS Must-Have: Candidates should have 3 or more years of experience, previous travel experience is a plus, and must have worked in a busy hospital setting. Description: This position requires flexibility on scheduling, including the ability to float to like units when needed. The unit has a bed capacity of 28 with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 to 4. Common diagnoses include single and multi-organ transplant patients, as well as LVAD patients. Experience with postoperative care is preferred. Candidates should be capable of titrating cardiac drips. RN's will be responsible for reading telemetry strips. Charge Nurse responsibilities may be required. Weekend shifts are scheduled every other week, and holiday shifts are mandatory. Self-scheduling is based on unit needs; however, block scheduling cannot be guaranteed. All personnel should be trained to assess using Dopplers for MAPP. Experience with BiPap, Cpap, and High Flow equipment is advantageous. This role is essential in managing critical care in an acute setting.
