Job Summary Theatre Surgical Nurse in Madison, Wisconsin This role involves providing specialized surgical nursing care in a fast-paced environment within a level one trauma center. The position requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to support patients undergoing complex procedures, ensuring adherence to advanced clinical protocols and safety standards.
Job Details
Position Description: Day/Evening, 12-hour shifts, including every other weekend rotation and some holidays. The unit can consider 4x12s if the traveler is interested.
Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact RN license, at least 2 years of ICU experience, ACLS and BLS certifications, Epic EHR experience, and a minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience.
Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours, minimum of 36 hours per week.
Additional Information: The role necessitates passing telemetry testing prior to start, with specific cutoffs for adult and pediatric exams. The candidate will assist with arterial line management, chest tube insertion/removal, blood product administration, ventilator care, central line management, and other advanced ICU procedures. The position also involves participation in research and evidence-based therapies within an academically affiliated environment.
Submittal Requirements: Candidates must have two years of recent acute care experience, pass a telemetry exam with strict criteria in two attempts, and submit a certificate of completion for a cardiac interpretation review course if they do not pass on the second attempt.
