Wound Care Registered Nurse
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Wound Care Registered Nurse for an assignment in Fort Defiance, Arizona. This role is crucial for providing specialized care to patients requiring comprehensive wound and ostomy management.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing care for a diverse patient population presenting with ostomies, draining wounds, fistulas, pressure ulcers, and various acute and chronic wounds. This includes providing essential education to patients and their families, as well as making informed recommendations for supplies and equipment to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, plan, and implement comprehensive nursing care for patients with ostomies, draining wounds, fistulas, pressure ulcers, and acute/chronic wounds.
Provide thorough patient and family education regarding wound and ostomy care, treatment plans, and self-management techniques.
Evaluate patient needs and recommend appropriate supplies and equipment to ensure optimal wound and ostomy management.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and adjust individualized care plans.
Required Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in Wound Care.
Wound Care Certification (WCC) is mandatory.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Skills & Competencies
Expertise in wound assessment, staging, and documentation.
Proficiency in ostomy care and management.
Strong knowledge of various wound care modalities, dressings, and products.
Ability to provide effective patient and family education.
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
