Registered Nurse – Wound Care | Fort Defiance, AZ | 13 Weeks Contract

Position: Registered Nurse – Wound Care
Location: Fort Defiance, AZ
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: 5×8
Experience Required: 2 Years
Weekly Pay:$2,600 to $2,800
Roles and Responsibilities
Assess, evaluate, and document acute and chronic wounds, pressure injuries, surgical wounds, ulcers, and other skin integrity concerns
Develop and implement individualized wound care plans in collaboration with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team
Perform wound cleansing, dressing changes, debridement assistance, and other prescribed wound treatments within scope of practice
Monitor wounds for signs of infection, deterioration, delayed healing, or other complications
Recommend appropriate wound care products, dressings, and treatment approaches based on patient condition and established protocols
Monitor and document wound healing progress through accurate measurements, assessments, and photographs when permitted
Educate patients and caregivers on wound care techniques, nutrition, pressure injury prevention, and skin protection
Assist with pressure injury prevention and skin integrity programs
Collaborate with physicians, dietitians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Follow infection prevention, patient safety, OSHA, and facility wound care protocols
Participate in care conferences, quality improvement initiatives, and wound prevention programs
Advocate for patients and ensure compassionate, respectful, and culturally sensitive care
Qualifications
Active Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) License
Minimum 2 years of recent Wound Care nursing experience
Current BLS Certification required
Wound Care certification such as WCC, CWCN, CWOCN, or equivalent preferred
Strong knowledge of wound assessment, staging, treatment, and prevention
Experience with pressure injuries, diabetic wounds, venous and arterial ulcers, and surgical wounds
Knowledge of infection prevention and evidence-based wound management practices
Experience using electronic medical records (EMR)
Excellent assessment, communication, documentation, and critical-thinking skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team
Strong commitment to patient dignity, safety, and quality outcomes
