Labor & Delivery RN – Wisconsin

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care for maternal and newborn patients, ensuring safe, compassionate, and family-centered care throughout labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn recovery.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Wisconsin RN License
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
  • AHA BLS
  • NRP
  • ALSO
  • STABLE
  • Intermediate Fetal Monitoring

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform maternal and newborn assessments
  • OB triage and patient evaluation
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Administer medications safely
  • Monitor labor progression
  • Manage labor inductions and cervical ripening
  • Interpret fetal heart monitoring
  • Manage pregnancy complications (hypertension, diabetes)
  • Perform neonatal assessment and resuscitation
  • Recognize and manage neonatal complications, including:
    • Sepsis
    • Hypoglycemia
    • Hypothermia
    • Jaundice
  • Educate patients and families on maternal and newborn care
  • Communicate patient status changes promptly with providers
  • Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary care team

Required Obstetric Skills

Candidates should be comfortable managing:

  • Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH)
  • Prolapsed cord
  • Breech delivery
  • Precipitous delivery
  • Uterine rupture
  • Placenta previa
  • Abruptio placenta
  • Meconium management
