Key Responsibilities

• Interpret physician referrals and select appropriate standardized evaluation procedures.
• Evaluate patients in areas including independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational work adjustment, educational skills, play-leisure abilities, social skills, and psychosocial skills.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with short- and long-term goals, including frequency and duration of treatment.
• Assist patients through the design and fabrication of adaptive equipment, orthotic devices, and instruction in joint protection and body mechanics.
• Communicate goals and progress to patients and their families, and assist with discharge planning including equipment ordering and home therapy instruction.
• May supervise occupational therapy students.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current Occupational Therapist license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association, required upon hire.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of professional occupational therapy, including materials and supplies utilized in treatment programs.
• Ability to interpret therapy prescriptions and communicate technical information effectively to patients.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience organizing and instructing occupational therapy activities in a clinical setting.
• Basic computer proficiency in a healthcare environment.
