Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital setting, requiring at least 1 year of inpatient acute care hospital experience and a compact OT license in hand at time of consideration.

Details

• Acute care hospital unit within a large, 536-bed short-term acute care teaching hospital
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• Weekend shifts required, approximately 4 weekend days per month
• Block scheduling required
• Floating between units required
• Epic EMR system used for charting
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Current OT license required if applicable, compact license must be in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient acute care hospital experience required
• BLS certification required
• NBCOT certification required
• Epic charting experience required
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Large acute care hospital experience and employment background preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include billing/documentation, patient assessment, discharge planning, evaluation, plan of care, and reassessments
• Provide home exercise programs, patient/family education, and safety and injury prevention instruction
• Perform lifting and transfer duties as part of patient care
• May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
• Returning former employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must be located more than 50 miles from the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates residing within 50 miles are considered local
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years are required
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
