JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide school-based therapy services within a public school district in Federal Way, Washington. The Occupational Therapist will support students in developing, improving, and maintaining the functional skills needed for academic participation and daily school activities.
This role involves evaluating student needs, developing individualized therapy plans, delivering direct interventions, and collaborating with educators and support staff to promote student success in the educational environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct occupational therapy evaluations for students
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (IEPs)
Provide direct therapy services to students in school settings
Support students with fine motor, sensory, and functional skill development
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents
Document student progress and maintain accurate records
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
Recommend adaptive equipment and classroom modifications
Ensure compliance with school district and state educational standards
REQUIREMENTS
Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Washington State or eligibility to obtain
Degree in Occupational Therapy (Master's or Doctorate required)
Experience in pediatric or school-based settings preferred
Strong understanding of IEP processes and educational therapy practices
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to manage a school-based caseload independently
