Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a Home Health assignment requiring at least 1 year of home health or clinical experience and an active OT license.

Details

  • Home health setting serving adult patients ages 18 and up
  • Caseload averages 4-6 patients per day with most visits occurring in patients' homes
  • Occasional clinic visits scheduled weekly for 1-2 patients
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (8:00 AM-5:00 PM)
  • No weekend requirement, though weekend availability can be arranged if desired
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Coverage area includes Beltsville and Montgomery areas
  • Charting completed using Kinnser/WellSky system, must be completed on-site rather than at home
  • 13-week contract length

Requirements

  • Active Occupational Therapist state license required in hand at time of consideration (license required if applicable)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Home Health/Homecare, or 1 year of clinical experience overall
  • Acute care background also considered favorable
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
  • OASIS experience preferred but not required
  • WellSky Home Health charting experience is a plus
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills required

Additional Information

  • Complete occupational therapy evaluations, reassessments, and discharge visits
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient goals and functional needs
  • Assess home environments and recommend adaptive equipment and safety modifications
  • Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, energy conservation, home safety, adaptive equipment, and activities of daily living
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Business casual dress code with closed-toe shoes required
  • Free residential parking available
  • Flu vaccination required; COVID-19 vaccine declination permitted
  • All required compliance documentation must be completed before starting patient care, which may take 2-3 weeks
  • All time off requests must be submitted at the time of application, as additional requests cannot be accommodated after an offer is made
  • Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
  • Mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate from first patient to last patient of the day
