Job Summary
An Occupational Therapist (OT) helps patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working. They work with individuals who have physical, mental, developmental, or emotional conditions to enhance independence and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities
Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
Help patients improve daily living skills (e.g., dressing, eating, mobility)
Implement therapeutic exercises and activities
Train patients in the use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices
Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans and home exercises
Monitor progress and adjust therapy plans accordingly
Maintain accurate documentation and patient records
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
Valid state license or certification (NBCOT preferred)
Strong knowledge of therapy techniques and rehabilitation practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
