What We're Looking For


  • Master's or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited educational program.
  • Current state license in good standing with the State License Board for Illinois or ability to obtain an Illinois license prior to start.
  • NBCOT Certification.
  • Educator's License or eligibility for a school-based credential preferred.
  • Experience in school-based practice with evaluations, IEP development, and progress monitoring preferred.


Minimum Requirements


  • Occupational Therapy degree (Master's or Doctoral) from an accredited program.
  • Current, active Occupational Therapist license in the state of Illinois or ability to secure licensure before first day.
  • NBCOT Certification required.
  • Educator's License required or documented eligibility as specified by the district.
  • Previous experience working in school settings (elementary, middle, or high school) preferred. Client indicates assignment may be in EC, Elementary, Middle School, or High School; flexibility to work across these grade levels is desired.
  • Proficiency conducting school-based assessments, writing IEPs, and implementing goal-directed interventions.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary school teams.


Assignment Details


  • Facility Type: School.
  • Orientation dates: 8/3 and 8/4 (attendance required prior to start).
  • First day of work: 8/10/26. Last day of work: 5/24/27.
  • Assignment grade levels: Early Childhood (EC), Elementary, Middle School, High School. Specific grade assignment to be determined closer to the start of the school year.

What You'll Do


  • Provide occupational therapy services in a school-based setting across assigned grade levels.
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments to determine student needs and develop compliant IEPs.
  • Design and deliver individualized interventions and group sessions aligned with IEP goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress.
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
