Administers comprehensive skilled care. Participates in and ensures that care delivery services are consistent with the vision, mission, values, and strategic goals and meet customer needs. Promotes the organization's philosophy, mission, and administrative policies to ensure the delivery of quality care. Promotes effective working relationships and works effectively as part of the team to meet goals and objectives. Utilizes resources, supplies, and time efficiently to contain costs and increase the value of all services. Promotes positive, supportive, and respectful communication to all external sources, patients, families, and staff. Displays behavior in support of the overall organization. Supports public relations and marketing initiatives within the community. Strives for continuous improvement in the Occupational Therapist function and care delivery process. Develops and maintains a customer-oriented environment responsive to the needs of all customers. Develops and revises treatment plans and discharge plans in conjunction with patients, families, physicians, and the care delivery team. Provides an environment which promotes respect for patients, their privacy, confidentiality, and property. Initiates appropriate preventive and rehabilitative strategies. Consults with and educates patients, families, and team members regarding disease processes, self-care techniques, and preventive strategies. Provides supervision of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants to ensure patient health, safety, and compliance with the plan of care. Directs, coordinates, evaluates, and supervises the quality of patient care services provided, including clinical supervision of Home Health Aides. Interacts with patients, physicians, and refers sources in a manner conducive to continued positive relationships. Displays an exemplary level of patience, courtesy, and tact. Supports care management philosophy, including collaborative customer-focused planning and case management designed to meet individual health and service needs. Participates in regularly scheduled patient conferences with teams for discussing patient care and ensuring a comprehensive coordinated treatment plan. Assures the completion of all appropriate clinical records needed for compliance and seamless service delivery within established timeframes. Refers to appropriate community agencies/resources as needed. Demonstrates flexibility, enthusiasm, and willingness to cooperate with customers and others. Ensures problem resolution at the point of contact. Makes constructive recommendations regarding ways to improve quality of patient care and service delivery. Sets an example of integrity. Assists leaders in monitoring and identifying potential new programs and services. Ensures patient's needs are met through the care delivery process. Ensures practices, standards, and behaviors meet performance competencies. Participates in the attainment of operational and financial objectives. Monitors results and takes corrective action on quality indicators, including customer satisfaction. Understands the importance of the Occupational Therapist function and its impact on patients and other care providers. Pursues efforts to reduce or eliminate avoidable costs and errors. Develops quality plans of care consistent with care paths and complies with regulatory practices and guidelines. Responds to findings of quality management processes and ensures resolution of potential problem areas. Maintains productivity requirements.
