Job Title: Occupational Therapist Profession: Therapy Specialty: Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days (5x8) Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 1+ years License: Current occupational therapy license Certifications: BLS Must-Have Skills/Experience: - Implements treatment programs in a safe manner displaying a variety of treatment skills in specific treatment modalities. - Performs patient care to acceptable standards of professional ethics by respecting patient confidences. - Provides care to all persons without regard to medical problems. - Follows proper policy and procedure guidelines for Infection Control and completion of incident reports. - Performs patient documentation and communicates with other areas to meet quality improvement requirements. - Assists with marketing and coordinating workshops. - Participates in quality improvement and program evaluation activities. - Accurately evaluates patients' functional status and relevant medical and psychosocial factors. - Establishes appropriate treatment plans using measurable goals. - Prioritizes evaluation and treatment procedures to optimize patient outcomes and goal achievement. - Modifies treatment or evaluation approaches as appropriate to patient response. - Utilizes support staff effectively. - Serves as a resource person. - Provides appropriate orientation to new staff. - Identifies new or updates programs inclusive of determining appropriate policies and procedures. - Trains staff and monitors program effectiveness. - Acts as a clinical instructor for students. - Assists in departmental or special projects as needed. - Provides patient and family education in a clear and concise manner throughout care and at discharge. - Completes all necessary written documentation via notes, conferences, and charge entries in a clear, concise, and timely manner. - Demonstrates the ability to orally communicate effectively with other professionals, patients, and family members. - Maintains current knowledge of technical and therapeutic advances and provides education to others.
