As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide targeted treatments and develop long-term plans to help injured, disabled, or severely ill patients regain the skills and abilities needed for daily living. You will assess patient needs, create individualized therapy plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery. Your day will include evaluating progress, documenting outcomes, and educating patients and families on adaptive techniques and equipment. You will typically work with a diverse patient population, focusing on rehabilitation and functional independence.
Required qualifications include a current Occupational Therapist license, relevant state credentials, and experience in patient assessment and therapy planning. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and up-to-date vaccinations are recommended.
