Job Description & Requirements
Occupational Therapist - Rehab - (OT - Rehab)
StartDate: ASAP
Available Shifts: 8 D
Pay Rate: $2196.00 - $2263.00
This Occupational Therapist opportunity is based in San Marcos, Texas, a vibrant Hill Country community known for its beautiful spring-fed river, outdoor recreation, and welcoming local culture. San Marcos offers tubing and kayaking on the river, miles of hiking and biking trails, and an energetic college-town atmosphere. The city provides easy access to both Austin and San Antonio, giving you the benefits of a smaller community with quick connections to major urban amenities, dining, music, and travel. It is a great location for professionals who enjoy an active lifestyle, a relaxed pace of living, and a strong sense of community.
You will be working in a community hospital outpatient setting that serves a diverse population across the region. The environment emphasizes coordinated, patient-centered care and close collaboration among rehabilitation, nursing, and medical teams. The outpatient department is designed to support efficient workflows and effective therapy delivery, with access to a range of therapeutic equipment and resources that allow you to practice at the top of your license.
This is a temp-direct position with an ASAP start date and a full-time schedule. You will work 5 eight-hour day shifts per week, primarily Monday through Friday. There may be a weekend rotation, and if you work a weekend day, you will receive a corresponding weekday off to maintain a balanced 40-hour workweek. There is no on-call requirement, helping you maintain predictable hours and a stable routine.
The typical day includes managing an outpatient caseload of approximately 9 patient visits. You will evaluate and treat individuals with a variety of functional limitations, including orthopedic, neurologic, and general medical conditions. Responsibilities include completing comprehensive evaluations, developing individualized plans of care, implementing evidence-based interventions, documenting in the EMR, and collaborating closely with physicians and other rehab disciplines to coordinate treatment plans.
You will provide hands-on therapy, functional training, and patient education to support independence in daily activities and participation in home, work, and community roles. The setting allows you to see meaningful progress in your patients while maintaining a reasonable patient volume that supports both quality and productivity. You can expect a supportive interdisciplinary team, clear expectations, and a focus on safe, effective care for the local community.
