Job Title: Occupational Therapist Profession: Rehabilitation Services Specialty: Agency Staff Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 9 AM - 5:30 PM Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Licensed Occupational Therapist Certifications: - Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR) - Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited occupational therapy program - Licensed Occupational Therapist - State of Michigan Upon Hire - Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or American Red Cross within 90 Days Description: Provides therapy to patients based on patient need and medical direction. Provides patient/caregiver education and arranges for adaptive equipment as needed. Performs evaluation procedures to assess the level of disability with regard to scope of practice, goals, and a plan of treatment. Makes appropriate recommendations based on evaluations. Implements a treatment program and education to restore and return maximal function to the patient. Assesses effectiveness of treatment and modifies goals/treatment methods as needed. Documents evaluation and treatment of each patient in compliance with department standards and medical-legal procedures. Instructs and trains other rehabilitation staff, nursing, and other medical personnel regarding patient needs and rehabilitation services. Participates in ongoing process improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives. Demonstrates productivity as indicated by department standards. Improves skill areas through continuing education and competencies. Develops new concepts of patient care and enhances skills with various population groups.
