Job Title: Occupational Therapist Profession: Occupational Therapist Specialty: Occupational Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8H Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: - Experience in inpatient clinical settings preferred. - Experience with trauma cases preferred. Description: Unit treats patients across various settings. Patients per day depend on area assigned. Outpatient can treat up to 9 patients per day. Inpatient can treat up to 13 patients per day. Rehab patient load varies. Certification in the respective field is required. Must have passed the national certification exam for Occupational Therapy. Electronic medical record system used is Cerner Powerchart. Rehab aides and assistants are present to assist in care. Weekend requirements vary based on department needs. Holidays are not mandatory. Uniform includes a maroon polo shirt, dark-colored pants, and closed-toed shoes. A lab coat is optional. Coverage will be needed for assigned areas and possibly other areas as well. Shifts may vary, with a typical duration of 8 hours. Common diagnoses include orthopedic, post-surgical, neuro, trauma, and cardiac cases. Preferred experience includes bedside swallow studies and video swallowing studies for speech cases. Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled within the assignment. The work setting is inpatient and acute care. Certification in BLS is required.
