Description:
The Occupational Therapist is an integral member of the interdisciplinary team.
They develop, administer, and implement therapeutic services.
These services are designed to help patients regain their optimal level of function.
This includes meaningful daily activities such as self-care, leisure, and work.
The Occupational Therapist will be supervised by the Client Manager.
Essential Job Functions:
Accept responsibility for evaluating patients' functional status.
Make decisions based on objective tests and measurements.
Communicate observations, facts, and treatment suggestions to the interdisciplinary team.
Provide education and direction to patients and coworkers as appropriate.
Work independently and cooperatively.
Recognize and protect patient rights.
Convey empathy and compassion to those experiencing grief, pain, or trauma.
Complete accurate and concise documentation of all communications and treatment activities.
Adapt to emergency situations and be alert to changes in patients' conditions.
The employee supports the mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures of the organization.
Participate in required education for applicable programs.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Required - Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy curriculum.
Eligible for the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
Desired - Evidence of continuing education appropriate for skill level and area of practice.
Current knowledge of occupational therapy as related to physical disability and rehabilitation procedures.
Knowledge of mental health concepts, the elderly population, long-term care, and home health and hospice.
Preferred: Registration as an Occupational Therapist with the American Occupational Therapy Association.
CRASE training may be required if the travel assignment extends beyond a specific period.
