Travel Occupational Therapist (OT) - $2,626 per week in Hattiesburg, MS

Job Title: Occupational Therapist Profession: Occupational Therapy Specialty: Client Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 1 weekend per month Experience: Minimum of two years of experience working as an Occupational Therapist in an acute care setting. License: Permanent or temporary license as an Occupational Therapist from the Mississippi State Department of Health. Certifications: BLS (CPR) Must-Have: - Ability to perform patient evaluations using appropriate functional tests and measures. - Capability to assimilate data regarding a patient's medical stability, activity restrictions, and participation limitations to determine functional deficits and construct goals. - Ability to document securely in the Electronic Medical Record. - Demonstrated critical thinking skills in patient evaluation and treatment planning. - Understanding of physical agent modalities such as moist heat and paraffin. - Knowledge of the cardiopulmonary, musculoskeletal, nervous, and integumentary systems as they relate to patient care. - Skill in identifying the learning needs of patients or family members. - Teamwork skills to assist patients and families throughout the care continuum. - Ability to interpret and follow physician's orders and cooperate with coworkers and leadership. - Must be able to lift, handle, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. - Skill in operating relevant medical equipment and assistive devices. Description: The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the implementation of physician orders for Occupational Therapy services. The Occupational Therapist should provide necessary aspects of Occupational Therapy within an interdisciplinary environment to facilitate patients' return to an independent and safe lifestyle. The Occupational Therapist must utilize knowledge of growth and development across all age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and adult geriatric patients. The Occupational Therapist demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care based on the patients' ages. The Occupational Therapist possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status. The Occupational Therapist interprets information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs. The Occupational Therapist is expected to provide the care needed to facilitate recovery. The Occupational Therapist typically completes seven sessions daily, which may include evaluations. Therapist discretion will dictate the frequency and duration of sessions based on patient needs and tolerance.
