Travel Occupational Therapist (OT) - $2,627 per week in Topeka, KS

Job Title: Occupational Therapist Profession: Occupational Therapy Specialty: Occupational Therapy Duration: 26 weeks Shift: 8 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 40 hours/week Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Occupational Therapist license required Certifications: BLS required within the first 90 days Must-Have: Experience in acute care hospital setting Description: Occupational Therapist needed for full-time 26-week contract. The shift is from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Candidates may also consider working 10-hour days. The candidate will be required to assist with late joint evaluations on a rotation with other staff. The last joint is seen at 5:00 PM, and the workday concludes by 6:30 PM at the latest. There is no on-call duty and no weekend work. First-time travelers are not eligible for this position. A Bachelor's degree is required. Occupational Therapist license required, NBCOT certification preferred. BLS certification from AHA is mandatory within the first 90 days if not already held. Experience with Epic is preferred, but not required. The expected patient load is 7 to 8 patients per 8-hour shift. Patients will typically include general medicine, neurology, orthopedics, cardiology, respiratory issues, trauma, surgical cases, and joint replacements. Emergency Department patients are less common. Daily tasks involve reviewing patient charts, creating schedules, and providing patient care and evaluations until approximately 12:00 PM. There will be a brief huddle at 12:45 PM, along with scheduled lunch breaks in the afternoon. Therapists may be paired with a Physical Therapist following a brief orientation to aid in workflow. Candidates must be comfortable transferring patients with lines and drains and working with very acutely ill diagnoses. The facility has a policy regarding attendance that will be addressed on a case-by-case basis. This is an award-winning Level II Trauma Center.
