Job Title: Occupational Therapist Profession: Occupational Therapy Specialty: Occupational Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-hour Days Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: State licensure required Certifications: BLS certification required Must-Have: Experience in acute inpatient or rehab Description: Department: Occupational Therapy This is a backfill position. The unit treats approximately 10 to 12 patients per day. Common diagnoses include orthopedic total joints and neurological strokes. Occasional cases of brain injuries are seen, but traumatic brain injuries are not typically present. Patients are from the acute inpatient and rehab settings. There are also travelers dedicated to the rehab unit. Coverage may also extend to the ICU, depending on experience and need. Candidates should have at least one year of licensed experience in acute inpatient or rehab. First-time travelers are welcome. The electronic medical record system used is EPIC. A manager is available on each shift. Rehab aides are available, but no certified occupational therapy assistants. Shifts are scheduled for four 10-hour days, from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Self-scheduling is not an option. Weekend requirements involve rotating weekends, unless assigned as regular shifts. Holiday coverage is necessary as needed. Scrubs are permitted but must not match the colors of other departments. A list of acceptable scrub colors will be provided upon hire. Typically, there are two to three days of department-specific orientation. Travelers are expected to work Monday through Friday for onboarding purposes. This facility has a radius rule of 50 miles, and candidates should reside outside of that distance.
