We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join the team at Berkeley Charter Education Association District. The Occupational Therapist will provide school-based therapy services to help students develop, improve, and maintain the functional skills needed for success in the educational environment.
The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children, collaborates effectively with educators and families, and is committed to helping students reach their full academic and developmental potential.
Schedule
Shift:Days
Hours:Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM (5 x 7.5-hour shifts)
Responsibilities
Evaluate students and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans based on educational needs
Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Improve students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, self-care skills, and classroom participation
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, parents, and other members of the educational team to support student success
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development, progress updates, and recommendations
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school district, state, and federal guidelines
Recommend adaptive equipment, classroom modifications, and therapeutic strategies to support student independence
Educate school staff and families on techniques and interventions to reinforce therapy goals
Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive therapy environment
Deliver compassionate, student-centered care that promotes independence, participation, and academic success
Requirements
Required: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
Required: Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of practice or ability to obtain
Preferred: Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting
Knowledge of IEPs, IDEA regulations, and school-based therapy practices is preferred
Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Commitment to supporting students in achieving their educational and developmental goals
