An Occupational Therapist helps patients develop, recover, or maintain daily living and working skills after injury, illness, or disability.
Acute Care OT department, supporting acute care patients from physician orders throughout the hospital. Supports wide variety of medical and surgical diagnoses, including ICU patients, stroke/neurological, orthopedics and general debility.
Assess patients’ physical, mental, and emotional abilities
Create personalized treatment plans
Help patients improve daily activities (dressing, eating, working, etc.)
Teach use of adaptive equipment (wheelchairs, splints, etc.)
Work with patients recovering from strokes, injuries, or developmental issues
Track progress and adjust therapy plans
