Key Responsibilities- Evaluate patient function through formal and informal testing measures to assess skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, and cognitive status.
- Develop goal-specific treatment regimens based on assessment data and patient tolerance, in accordance with occupational therapy standards and physician orders.
- Submit and maintain written treatment plans coordinated with the physician, updating the plan of care as needed to reflect changes in patient status.
- Devise frequency- and duration-specific treatment schedules in coordination with patients, families, caregivers, and clinical support staff.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding their condition, prognosis, treatment rationale, and interventions including rest, exercise, and modalities.
- Provide supervision to Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students in accordance with regulatory and facility standards.
Required Qualifications- Active Michigan Occupational Therapist License (LARA verified, Active status required).
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Demonstrated occupational therapy clinical experience.
- Pediatric experience required.
- Current Skills Checklist pertinent to Occupational Therapy (within the last year).
- Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience in both outpatient and acute care settings.
- Familiarity with delegating responsibilities to Occupational Therapist Assistants and Aides.
