Assess patients' level of functioning upon physician orders and plan and implement appropriate OT treatment based on evaluation results and patient and family goals.
Participate in the interdisciplinary team process, including team conferences, and collaborate with other team members to provide optimal patient care.
Complete all required documentation including initial evaluations, daily progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge documentation according to department policy and within defined timeframes.
Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement coordination, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment recommendations.
Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and OT/COTA students in the application of occupational therapy theory and techniques, and assist with new staff orientation.
Promote patient and employee safety across key areas including safe patient handling, infection control, materials handling, and slip/trip/fall prevention.
Required Qualifications
Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Ohio.
Ability to assess patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and administer appropriate evaluation procedures.
Demonstrated ability to supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and students competently.
Strong documentation skills with the ability to complete required records accurately and within defined timeframes.
Commitment to patient and employee safety standards and confidentiality requirements.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience working within an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team setting.
Familiarity with discharge planning processes including equipment recommendation, caregiver training, and placement coordination.
Experience with continuous quality improvement initiatives and documentation of quality assurance activities.
