Occupational Therapist (Pediatric)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Outpatient | Days | Monday–Thursday, 8:15 AM–6:15 PM or 7:00 PM
Key Responsibilities- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned pediatric patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
- Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
- Design functional treatment programs that support effective return to community activities and progress patients toward discharge within an established length of stay
- Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations
- Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and all regulatory requirements; maintain professional licensure in good standing and fulfill all state-mandated continuing education requirements
- Support organizational performance improvement initiatives and contribute feedback through staff meetings, focus groups, or direct supervision channels
Required Qualifications- Active and unrestricted Occupational Therapist licensure in the state of Illinois
- Pediatric occupational therapy experience required
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive OT evaluations and develop appropriate clinical treatment plans
- Proficiency in medical record documentation in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines
- Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional code of conduct and State Practice Act
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience in an outpatient pediatric therapy setting
- Familiarity with functional quality indicator assessments and letters of medical necessity
- Experience supervising or mentoring therapy students in a clinical environment
