Contract | Days | 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM | 13-Week Assignment
Key Responsibilities
Assess patient level of functioning upon physician orders and plan and implement appropriate treatment based on evaluation results
Participate in the interdisciplinary team process, including team conferences, to collaborate on patient care and progress
Facilitate discharge planning for each patient, including placement coordination, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment recommendations
Complete all required documentation including initial evaluations, daily progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with department policies and timelines
Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and OT/COTA students in the application of occupational therapy theory and techniques
Promote patient and employee safety through safe patient handling, infection control practices, and adherence to all facility safety policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
Active Occupational Therapist licensure in the state of Texas
Experience in post-acute rehabilitation settings
Proficiency in evaluating and treating patients with spinal cord injury (SCI), traumatic brain injury (TBI), and cerebrovascular accident (CVA)
Ability to develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings and patient and family goals
Strong documentation skills with the ability to meet defined timeframes for all required records
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience supervising OT students or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team environment
Experience with adaptive equipment recommendation, issuance, and patient and family training
