    Job Title: Occupational Therapist Profession: Occupational Therapy Specialty: Outpatient Rehabilitation Duration: Full-time Shift: Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Experience: Experience in providing Occupational Therapy within an outpatient setting is strongly preferred License: Licensed Occupational Therapist with eligibility in the state of New Hampshire Certifications: BLS Certification required Must-Have: - Graduate from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy or equivalent Description: The purpose is to evaluate, plan, direct, and administer Occupational Therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. The role involves performing all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical errors. The Occupational Therapist will evaluate and treat patients with conditions related to degenerative conditions, neurologic impairments, general orthopedics, and post-operative care. Candidates should be proficient in rendering common treatment techniques including manual therapy, neuro-rehabilitation techniques, exercise modalities, and the use of functional activities. Responsibilities include administering treatments and occupational agents as prescribed to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability. The role involves assisting patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The Occupational Therapist will observe and evaluate treatment effects, recommending changes to the physician as needed. An appropriate evaluation and assessment on each patient is required, along with reassessments as per policy for various patient populations. The Occupational Therapist must assess patient pain interfering with optimal levels of function or participation and make appropriate contacts for intervention. A teaching plan based on identified learning needs will be formulated and evaluated for effectiveness with family involvement as appropriate. Treating patients and their families with respect and dignity while addressing psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs is essential. The Occupational Therapist will manage and operate equipment safely and correctly while maintaining departmental cleanliness and safety. Professional interactions with patients and families will be prioritized, involving them in the formation of the care plan. Communication with physicians, staff, and administrative teams must be clear and appropriate. Coordinating care ensures patient needs are met while following hospital policies. Consultation with other departments may be required to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities. The Occupational Therapist will direct appropriate department staff, including rehabilitation aides, and supervise trainees and certification applicants. Maintaining records pertinent to the personnel and operation of the department is required, ensuring clinical documentation meets current standards and policies. Participation in guidance and educational programs is expected. Utilizing approved abbreviations when recording information is mandatory. Ensuring that patient charges are accurate and entered promptly is also an important responsibility.
