Screen and evaluate patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders; develop appropriate plans of care following regulatory and clinical practice standards using standardized assessments and evidence-based practice
Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices
Assess patient progress, adjust treatments accordingly, and evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness; make referrals as appropriate based on outcomes
Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to physical and cognitive disorders
Document all required clinical and regulatory information in the electronic documentation system, accurately recording treatment minutes per all requirements
Supervise and support occupational therapist assistants, rehabilitation aides, and/or students; participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and required facility trainings
Required Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of occupational therapy experience
Long Term Care or rehabilitation setting experience required
Active Oklahoma Occupational Therapist (OT) license required
NBCOT certification and adherence to state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics required
New graduates may be considered provided they have completed a Level II fieldwork experience (Level I observation experience alone does not qualify)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with electronic documentation systems in a clinical rehabilitation environment
Familiarity with DME procurement and assistive device recommendations
Experience providing comprehensive discharge planning and summary documentation
