Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an outpatient rehabilitation position requiring active MI license and BLS certification.

Details

• Outpatient setting with some acute care exposure
• Rehabilitation Services unit offering a full range of physical therapy services
• Day shift, 8-hour shifts scheduled anytime between 7:30am and 6pm
• One weekend per month required (Saturday)
• No call requirements
• Supervises Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students

Requirements

• Active Occupational Therapist license required (Michigan license required if applicable)
• OT experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Skills checklist current within 1 year required
• 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required
• Compact license not accepted

Additional Information

• Evaluate patient function through formal and informal testing measures covering skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, and cognitive status
• Develop and update goal-specific treatment plans based on assessment data and patient tolerance
• Submit written treatment plans coordinated with physician orders and co-sign verbal orders as needed
• Devise treatment schedules coordinated with patients, families, and clinical support staff
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatment rationale, and care alternatives
• Business casual dress code
• Facility does not consider local candidates; 50-mile radius restriction applies
• Maximum of 5 days RTO may be requested
