Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an Outpatient Hand Clinic setting, requiring a CA OT license and teaching hospital experience.

Details

  • Outpatient Occupational Therapy setting focused on hand and upper extremity care
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Patient population includes adults with arthritis, hand injuries, nerve injuries, reattachments, and tendon repairs
  • Possibility to float to other campus facilities within the health system
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Current CA OT license required (license required if applicable)
  • AHA BLS certification required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience preferred
  • Hand clinic and adult outpatient experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • CHT (Certified Hand Therapist) certification preferred
  • AOTA Hand/UE certification preferred
  • MS/MA degree preferred
  • PAM (modalities) certification preferred
  • Epic charting system experience required

Additional Information

  • Perform evaluations, assessments, reassessments, and discharge planning for outpatient hand and upper extremity patients
  • Utilize modalities and manual skills including edema massage, electrical stimulation, kinesiotaping, myofascial release, paraffin bath, splinting, TENS, and ultrasound
  • Fabricate and apply dynamic, functional, and static splints using materials such as Orthoplast
  • Develop home exercise programs and provide patient and family education
  • Emphasize safety and injury prevention throughout treatment
  • May float to other departments, units, or facilities within a 75+ mile radius as needed
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as traveling candidates
  • First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience
  • Candidates with prior employment at any University of California medical facility must disclose this history for a rehire eligibility review
  • RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager prior to offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract or within the first two weeks of the assignment
