Prime Time Healthcare is seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian to join a dedicated healthcare team in beautiful and remote Barrow, Alaska. This unique opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact on patient health through nutrition counseling, diabetes education, disease prevention, and community outreach in an underserved population.

As a key member of the healthcare team, you will develop individualized nutrition and diabetes management plans, provide patient and family education, collaborate with clinical staff, and support programs that promote healthy lifestyles and improved outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient nutritional status and develop individualized nutrition care plans.
• Create and modify diets based on patient-specific medical needs.
• Provide nutrition counseling and education for conditions including:
  • Diabetes
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Renal disease
  • Weight management
  • Failure to thrive
• Develop and implement individualized diabetes self-management plans.
• Educate patients and families on prevention strategies, self-care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Collaborate with providers, hospital departments, and community organizations to optimize patient care.
• Assist with nutrition-related referrals and follow-up care.
• Participate in community education programs and public health initiatives.
• Support performance improvement activities and program development.
• Travel to remote villages via small aircraft as needed.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Degree and training in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Services, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of recent relevant experience.
• Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) or CDCES preferred.

Licensure & Certifications

• Current Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) License in any state required.
• Alaska Registered Dietitian license required within six months of hire.
• CDCES certification preferred.
