Description

American Traveler is hiring a chemo-certified Oncology RN for a night shift BMT/oncology unit requiring inpatient hematology oncology experience and ONS chemotherapy certification.

Details

• Inpatient oncology unit specializing in Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) with mixed acuity PCU and Med/Surg population
• Care for patients with diagnoses including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndrome, and related blood dyscrasias
• Support autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic stem cell transplants as well as CAR-T therapy patients
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years RN experience with at least 1 year of current, ongoing inpatient hematology oncology experience
• Acute care experience must be current and consistent within the last 12 months in the applied specialty
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skilled in central line and PICC line care, blood product administration, chemotherapy administration, and telemetry monitoring/dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience managing ports, implanted lines, and recognizing abnormal lab values
• Knowledge of oncologic emergencies including sepsis and symptom management such as nausea/vomiting
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct care for BMT and oncology patients, including graft-versus-host disease and graft rejection management
• Administer chemotherapy and manage post-chemotherapy body fluid handling per protocol
• Utilize Rapid Response Team protocols and isolation precautions/PPE as needed
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees of the health system are ineligible for travel assignments at this facility
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Willingness to learn and grow nursing practice welcomed; travel experience not required
