Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology Chemo Certified RN for a night shift Med/Surg position requiring active NJ or Compact RN license and chemotherapy certification.

Details

• Inpatient oncology unit at a cancer center
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend required based on unit needs
• No block scheduling available
• Floating to other units within skillset based on facility needs, including the main New Brunswick campus connected by pedestrian bridge
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• BLS and Chemotherapy Certification (ONS/ONCC) required
• ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy/infusions and accessing/managing ports
• Experience with chemotherapy administration, including IV push, continuous infusion, and body fluid handling post-chemo
• Knowledge of oncologic emergencies including anaphylaxis and sepsis
• Experience managing cytotoxic spills and monitoring chemotherapy patients

Additional Information

• Administer and monitor chemotherapy treatments, manage ports, and recognize/manage treatment side effects
• Provide care within BMT, infusion center, inpatient oncology, and outpatient oncology settings
• Winter holiday coverage required for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's), based on unit needs
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Former RWJBH employees (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Open or active background/license hits are not accepted
