Description

American Traveler is hiring a Chemo Certified Oncology RN for a night shift position requiring active NJ or Compact license and chemotherapy certification.

Details

• Oncology Chemo Certified unit at a cancer center
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Every other weekend required based on unit needs
• No block scheduling available
• Uses EPIC charting system
• May float to other units within skillset, including the main New Brunswick campus connected by pedestrian bridge

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy and infusions
• Experience accessing and managing ports preferred
• Experience with chemotherapy administration, including IV push and continuous infusion
• Experience managing body fluid handling and cytotoxic spill disposal post-chemotherapy
• Experience monitoring for oncologic emergencies, anaphylaxis, and sepsis
• Experience recognizing and managing biotherapy side effects

Additional Information

• Work setting includes BMT, infusion center, inpatient and outpatient oncology, and PCU
• Navy blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former RWJBH employees (FT or PRN) must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Open or active background or license hits are not accepted
• Failing competency exams requires a 6-month break before re-submission
• All requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to offer
