Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Oncology Clinic position requiring 1 year of outpatient oncology experience and a NJ or compact RN license.

Details

Work in an outpatient Oncology Clinic setting
Nurses are partnered with a specific tumor group seeing patients for exams on specific days of the week
Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours from 7:30am to 6:00pm
No weekend or holiday requirements
Floating required among clinics within skillset
Patient ratios vary based on census, staffing, and patient acuity when floated
Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

Active NJ or Compact RN license required
BLS certification required; OCN certification preferred
Minimum 1 year of outpatient oncology experience required
Ambulatory care experience preferred
Teaching hospital experience preferred
Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Skilled in IV therapy and infusions
Skilled in chemotherapy administration and monitoring
Skilled in accessing, managing, and caring for ports and central lines
Experience recognizing and communicating abnormal lab values
Experience providing psychosocial care including patient/family education and advanced directives
Experience caring for patients with leukemia, blood dyscrasias, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and bone marrow transplant
Experience with neutropenic precautions and isolation/PPE protocols

Additional Information

Provide oncology outpatient nursing care including chemotherapy administration, port/central line management, and patient education
Business casual attire accepted; scrubs also permitted
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Local candidates accepted at the same rate
Past RWJBH staff (full time or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for a minimum of 1 year before returning for travel assignments
