Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Oncology Infusion Clinic position requiring current chemotherapy certification and at least one year of chemotherapy experience.

Details

  • Work in the Oncology Infusion Clinic (SCC Main Infusion Center) of a hospital setting
  • Adult patient population receiving chemotherapy and infusion treatments
  • Administers PO and SC injections, chemotherapy drugs, and other medications as ordered
  • Initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
  • Assists physicians during conscious sedation and minor diagnostic procedures
  • Day shift schedule, 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week, 40 hours weekly

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact eNLC)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration certificate from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)
  • Current ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate required
  • Minimum of 1 year of chemotherapy experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
  • Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and techniques
  • Effective communication skills and ability to respond to cultural and language needs of patients

Additional Information

  • Provide direct chemotherapy administration and patient education on treatment and side effects
  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and communicate changes in physician orders
  • Coordinate patient follow-up care including referrals and post-visit phone triage
  • Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
  • Interact with patients and families to share care plans during clinic visits and discharge
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (no local candidates)
  • Compliance documentation, including background checks and drug screening, must begin immediately upon offer due to strict facility deadlines
  • Travelers must be booked at least 4 weeks from time of offer to meet compliance timelines
