Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology Chemo Certified RN for a 13-week travel contract requiring 1 year of specialty experience and Chemo certification.

Details

  • Work in an Oncology Infusion unit within a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level III Trauma acute care hospital
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Float required between three affiliated hospital locations within scope
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • No weekend requirements
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses Epic/Excellian EMR charting system
  • Open to block scheduling arrangements

Requirements

  • Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
  • BLS and Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) required; OCN certification preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in oncology/infusion specialty required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • 2 years of RN experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Epic/Excellian charting experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, central line care, and chemotherapy administration
  • Experience managing chemotherapy side effects, oncologic emergencies, and symptom management
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions, neutropenic precautions, and phlebotomy
  • Minimum of 1 supervisor reference required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide direct oncology infusion care including chemotherapy administration, biotherapy, and management of related side effects
  • Care for patients across a wide range of cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and blood-related cancers
  • Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates are not accepted for this position
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
  • Requested time off should ideally not exceed 5 days during the assignment
  • Returning employees must have been separated from perm staff or per diem status for at least 3 months prior to starting
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Facility does not provide references to travelers post-assignment or to those who previously worked as perm staff
  • Fingerprinting via LiveScan is a Minnesota state requirement for compliance and must be completed prior to start
