Description

American Traveler is hiring a BSN-prepared, Oncology Chemo Certified RN for a day-shift outpatient cancer care position requiring current CA RN licensure and prior chemo/biotherapy experience.

• Outpatient oncology infusion center setting
• Cares for patients with oncological and hematological diagnoses
• Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating required (subject to change based on facility needs)
• Uses Epic charting system
• Dark blue scrubs provided

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BSN required
• 1-2 years of oncology nursing experience required (1-3 years preferred)
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required
• CPHON, CPON, and OCN certifications preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• At least one previous travel assignment required
• Experience with IV therapy, port access/management, and central line care required
• Chemotherapy administration experience required, including IV push, continuous infusion, and oral administration
• Skilled in symptom management for chemotherapy side effects
• Experience caring for patients with various cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and blood cancers

Additional Information

• Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments, manage vascular access devices, and monitor for treatment side effects
• Provide symptom management and patient education for oncology and hematology patients
• Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values and manage cytotoxic spill protocols
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Recommended to keep RTO under 7 days per assignment when possible
• Former UCLA contractors, travelers, or permanent employees must complete a 12-month separation and clearance before reapplying
• Candidates currently active with any University of California entity are not eligible for this position
• Pre-start training modules required, averaging 1-2 hours, completed prior to assignment start
